In June 1891, at the age of 22, he was called to the bar. After that he was invited to enrol at Inner Temple with the intention of becoming a barrister. There he attended University College, London, a constituent college of the University of London. On 10 August 1888, he left Porbandar for Mumbai.On 4 September he sailed from Bombay to London, with his brother. However, he dropped out & returned to Porbandar with family.
